The historic districts

El Cid, Flamingo Park, Grandview Heights and Northwood Shores hold the oldest housing we work on. Narrow single-car openings, detached garages, and in some cases doors converted from tilt-up to sectional at some point by somebody working to no particular standard.

Those conversions are where we find the most improvised hardware — mismatched track, undersized springs, brackets fixed into frames that will not hold them. We photograph what we find and explain it rather than simply adding line items.

West of the Turnpike

Ibis, Baywinds, Andros Isle, Riverwalk — modern, wide, insulated doors with the standard modern failures: torsion springs at end of cycle life, opener gear kits, and photo-eyes knocked out of alignment.

Standard hardware performs as rated out there. We do not push coastal-grade parts that far inland.

Wind code, honestly

West Palm is Palm Beach County and outside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone. The design wind speed is lower than at our Broward shop and product certifies under Florida Product Approval. It is the largest code difference across our service area and worth knowing before anyone quotes you a replacement door.
